Monadnock Ledger-Transcript – Friends of the Peterborough Town Library are planning a used book drive

The Friends of the Peterborough Town Library will be holding a two-day book collection for the Kyes-Sage Used Book Shop on Friday, April 26 and Saturday, April 27 from 10am to 3pm.

The book drive will take place at the Kyes-Sage Used Book Shop, 14 Concord St. in Peterborough. Books cannot be returned to the library. Donations of fiction, biography and history for adults, as well as children’s books, are welcome. Donated books must be in good condition. The Friends cannot accept damaged, smelly or moldy books, library waste, CDs and DVDs, textbooks or reader copies.

Starting Thursday, May 2, the Kyes-Sage Used Book Shop will be open on Thursdays and Fridays from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m., and on Saturdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Most books cost $2, while softcover children’s books cost $1. All proceeds from Kyes-Sage benefited the sale of books to library programs for children, teens and adults. In 2023, the bookstore raised nearly $6,500 to help fund library events.

The Friends of the Peterborough Town Library is a non-profit organization whose primary mission is to raise funds for additional programs not included in the library’s annual budget.
