Temporary closures planned on Katy Trail near Hermann | Mid-Missouri News

Two bridge renovation projects are underway on Missouri Route 19 in Montgomery County, causing some traffic disruptions and temporary closures.

Route 19, located across the Missouri River and Loutre River north of Hermann, is closed Monday through Friday from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. for painting and deck ceiling work. Pedestrians and cyclists on the Katy Trail will also be affected by temporary closures starting Monday.

Drivers will continue to experience temporary impacts between Missouri Route 94, south of McKittrick, and Missouri Route 100 in Hermann.

Traffic will be reduced to one lane per day from Monday to Friday from 7am to 5pm. In May, all lanes are open on Friday afternoons at 12 noon.

A 3.5 meter width restriction will remain in place as long as workers are present throughout the project. Flaggers will guide drivers through the work zone.

The project is scheduled for completion in mid-summer.

The Missouri Department of Transportation is asking drivers to make smart driving choices, eliminate distractions and remain attentive around work zones.
