Richard Bauman Obituary – Virginia Beach

Richard “Dick” Joseph Bauman, 92, passed away on March 28, 2024. He was born in Buffalo, NY, the son of Mary Harley Bauman and Leonard Bauman. He attended Bonaventure University and then served in the United States Air Force from 1953 to 1955. In 1966 he moved to Hampton, where he worked in logistics for the Univac Division in Ft. Monroe.

Dick married Ann Willats and they were devoted parents of Richard C. and Timothy J. Bauman. He enjoyed visits with his sister Catherine and her family, sailing, boxing, Knights of Columbus, traveling and dancing.

After Ann died, he moved to Virginia Beach in 2015 and married Stuart Grimes-Myers, whom he met and fell in love while shag dancing. They enjoyed life together and she helped care for him until he passed away. He is survived by his second wife, Stuart Grimes-Myers; sons, Richard C. Bauman and Timothy and his wife Betsy, his sister, Catherine Staff, his niece Margaret Staff. grandchildren, Ryan, Mason, Jackie, Alexis and great-grandson Karsten.

A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 11 a.m., Thursday, April 25, 2024, at Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 2150 Cunningham Dr. in Hampton. The funeral will follow in the Columbarium of the Church.
