Boone Health is the sixth largest employer in Columbia/Boone County, according to the latest statistics from Columbia Regional Economic Development Incorporated (REDI). REDI says Boone currently has 1,581 employees. Brady Dubois celebrates his six-month anniversary as CEO and president of Boone Health this weekend. Mr. Dubois joined host Fred Parry in the studio for an hour Saturday morning during 939 Eagle’s “CEO Roundtable” program. Mr. Dubois grew up in southeast Texas and south-central Louisiana and worked on his grandmother’s farm. He tells listeners that he learned the value of hard work and family growing up there. He graduated from Southwest Texas State in San Marcos and provided bedside care for five years before serving in the U.S. Navy for eight years from 2000 to 2008. He later worked at Mosaic Life Care of Northwest Missouri in St. Joseph, where he served on the board of the Jefferson City-based Missouri Hospital Association at the time. Mr. Dubois later worked in Detroit before Boone’s opportunity arose. His children went to Mizzou and he tells listeners that Columbia “felt like home.” Mr Parry describes Brady Dubois as decisive and transparent. One of the key issues discussed during the interview was the non-disclosure agreement (NDA) that Boone Health signed this month with officials in central Missouri, Mexico and Audrain County. Boone Health says the purpose of the NDA is to enable a comprehensive overview of hospital services needs for Audrain County and the collaborative development of a master health plan to meet the needs of residents and businesses in Audrain County. Noble closed the doors of his hospital in Mexico in March 2022. Mr. Dubois says they all agree that Mexico/Audrain County needs 24/7 emergency response, which means a hospital. They work on details. He also briefed Mr. Parry on efforts to create a network of Boone-affiliated physicians in the marketplace:
