An insider close to the Baldwin family claims the ’30 Rock’ actor wants to put the situation behind him. “It remains a very stressful situation for Alec and Hilaria. An acquittal for Hannah would have created less stress,” a source told People magazine. “However, he still relies on his defense. They just want the process to be over.”

The jury deliberated for less than three hours before returning a guilty verdict in the Hannah Gutierrez-Reed case. Images of gun neglect on set were seen throughout the process. In one photo, the gunsmith was seen pointing the barrel of a gun at her own head, as prosecutors argued that her “unprofessionalism” on set “significantly contributed to the death of Halyna Hutchins.”

The situation is not only frustrating for the 65-year-old actor. His legal troubles continue to cause stress for his wife Hilaria Baldwin, 40, with whom the actor has seven children, ages one to 10. In January, a source told People magazine that both the actor and his wife found it “frustrating” to face charges again after they were dropped last year.

“It is frustrating for both of them that Alec is being charged. They knew new charges might follow. The back and forth is tough,” the insider said at the time.

When Hilaria spoke about the fatal shooting of Halyna Hutchins in an interview with Extra in 2022, she said: “We are not doing well. Things can’t be going well for us. No one is doing well. It was and is a tragedy that no one could have imagined.”

Hannah Gutierrez-Reed’s attorney, Jason Bowles, told TMZ that before her hearing, she tried to make the best of her stay at the Santa Fe County Adult Detention Center, even though it was difficult for her. During her sentencing hearing, phone calls were played in which she called jurors “idiots” in conversations recorded during her stay, which did little to gain her sympathy for the judge who will also preside over Baldwin’s trial.

The ‘Rust’ criminal trial against Alec Baldwin will begin on July 9, 2024.
