New York: Columbia University students continue their sit-in in solidarity with Gaza

(21/April/2024)

NEW YORK April 21, 2024 (Saba) – Hundreds of students and activists from Columbia University continued the open sit-in for the fifth day in a row at the “Gaza Solidarity Camp” on the university campus in upstate New York, to express their solidarity and support the rights of the Palestinian people to freedom and independence, and demand the withdrawal of investments from the occupying state and the cessation of its financial support.

According to what was reported by the Palestinian news agency ‘Wafa’ on Sunday, the students announced the continuation of their sit-in in the tents set up in the university square after local police arrested dozens of them, while thousands of demonstrators remain outside the university walls standing in solidarity with the students to support their sit-in.

Students from Yale University in Connecticut also participated in a camp to support the protest at Columbia University and denounce the arbitrary arrests of students who stood with the Palestinian people.
