Family joins search and finds missing Carson City woman

CARSON CITY, Nev. (KOLO) – The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is thanking a family for helping find a missing elderly woman late Saturday night.

The sheriff’s office was notified Saturday that the woman was missing from Skyline Estates Senior Living & Memory Care in northwest Carson City.

Officers immediately started looking for the woman. The sheriff’s office used police dogs and drones to search for her. The woman’s family posted online that she was missing, the sheriff’s office said.

Around 11 p.m., the Richardson family, who are not related to the woman, found her in an empty parking lot behind a closed business in north Carson City, the sheriff’s office said. The family said they saw the post online and decided to join the search, the sheriff’s office said.

The sheriff’s office said the missing woman was healthy and happy to be located.
