ASP seeks suspect accused of teen’s murder after Helena-West Helena Prom

The Arkansas State Police Criminal Investigation Division is looking for a Helena man they say killed a teenager after the Helena-West Helena Central High School Prom.

In a news release, police say they have identified a suspect, 19-year-old Donterious Stephens, and claim he will be charged with first-degree murder and possession of firearms by certain persons. They are currently trying to track down the suspect.

Police say the incident occurred during a post-prom event across the street from Ater Warehouse along Highway 49 in West Helena. The release confirms that 18-year-old Lorenzo Harrison III was killed in the incident.

The deceased has been transported to the Arkansas State Crime Lab where an autopsy will be performed to determine the cause and manner of death.
