Ken Roczen injured in Nashville: ‘My shock body exploded, we have never seen it this bad’

Last night the AMA Supercross 450 had a scary moment involving Ken Roczen, who crashed after an issue that everything suggests was related to the shock absorbers on his bike. The rider was treated poorly and will undergo an MRI scan tomorrow to assess his true state of health.

The incident happened completely unexpectedly and will be investigated, as #94 explained: ‘We are doing some investigating as my shock absorber has only been on it for about 3 hours and we have never seen a failure like this before. It wasn’t a seal or anything. The bottom cover/housing, or whatever you want to call it, completely exploded.”

Roczen regretted the incident, especially on a stage of the evening’s main event when he was well placed to attack the front of the race, and then behind Eli Tomac, and said he does not yet know when he will return are: ‘What a disappointment. It promised to be a great battle. But then again, you can’t just take out an old German oak tree, we’ll be back. I just don’t know when yet lol’.
