Cats Blank Lancers complete series

ABILENE – Abilene Christian closed out the California Baptist series on Sunday with a 4-0 victory and got a great pitching performance from Brett Lanman.

Lanman (6-1) took a no-hitter in the sixth and combined with Caden Greead for the three-hit shutout. Lanman struckout five in 7.1 innings and allowed two hits. Greanead came into the eighth inning with a runner on second base and picked up his second save.

The Wildcats got all the runs they needed with a three-run first inning Maddox Miesse had a two-run single and Garret Williams hit an RI double.

Miller Ladusau scored on a wild pitch in the seventh.

The Wildcats had eight hits, including two singles by Ladusau, doubles by Williams and Zandt Payne and singles by Benjamin GreerMiesse, Gino D’Alessio And Holden Smoke.

The Wildcats conclude the nine-game homestand with a 6:05 p.m. nonconference matchup against Tarleton State on Tuesday.
