BISMARCK, ND (KFGO/KVRR) – Rick Becker is pausing campaign activities due to a family emergency.

Becker told KFGO that his son was riding an electric skateboard when he crashed and suffered a skull fracture and a brain hemorrhage. He is hopeful that his son will continue to improve and can be released from the hospital in the coming days. Becker will then resume campaign activities.

Becker’s campaign said on Facebook on Friday that his son was seriously injured and that he “needed to be present to advocate for and care for his son.”

Becker is running for the Republican nomination for the U.S. House of Representatives against endorsed candidate Alex Balazs, Public Service Commissioner Julie Fedorchak, former Miss America Cara Mund and Williston resident Sharlet Mohr
