The Red Bull Formula 1 spectacle on Pennsylvania Avenue attracts more than 50,000 fans

A rather unusual sight greeted those walking between the White House and the Capitol along Pennsylvania Avenue on Saturday as race cars screamed down the road.

Organizers also say that 50,000 fans turned up for the planned Formula One Red Bull Showrun.

During the event, David Coulthard, former Red Bull Racing driver and winner of thirteen Formula 1 Grand Prix, drove the RB7 car down the road from Washington’s political power.

“The best part of the Red Bull Showrun is that we can bring Formula 1 to fans who have already seen it, but more importantly to fans who have never seen it before,” said Coulthard. “Pennsylvania Avenue looked beautiful from the cockpit and it was a great privilege to drive the F1 car down this iconic street.”
