UNCW returns to the NCAA tournament

WILLIAMSBURG, Va. – UNCW advanced to its fourth consecutive Coastal Athletic Association men’s tennis championship with a 4-1 victory over Elon on Sunday at the McCormack-Nagelsen Tennis Center.

UNCW advances to the NCAA Tournament for the fourth straight season and owns a 17-5 record and an 11-game winning streak. Elon fell to 16-8.

For UNCW and Head Coach Mait Dubois, it is the program’s 10th conference title and appearance in the NCAA tournament. The Seahawks will learn their opponent and destination for the first round on April 29 at 6 p.m

The Seahawks took the doubles point with Ree Falck And Harold Huens captured the point with a 6-3 victory on court one.

Elon tied the match at 1-all with a win on court six as Dylan Heap won 6-3, 6-0.

Falck restored the Seahawk lead on court three with a straight-set 6-1, 6-3 win.

Trey Mallory moved UNCW to match point with a 6-3, 6-4 victory at fifth singles.

On court one, Huens closed the match with a 6-2, 6-4 victory.
