– This week frost is possible on some mornings.
– For the most part a quiet week of weather.
-Maybe some rain to end the week, along with a warm-up.

Today was certainly a little different than Saturday, wasn’t it? Lots of cloud cover and even a few showers to start our day. Some of us (Southside) kept the showers longer into the afternoon while most of us cleaned up. Rain continues to leave the area this afternoon and if we don’t get dry in your location this evening, it won’t be long before it dries out for everyone. Clouds will also start to decrease and that should also allow for a pretty quick cool down once you start to see that clearing. Places that clear faster will cool further, so keep that in mind. Most places will be in the lower 50s around 7pm and back into the lower to mid 40s around midnight.

Tonight it should clear up overnight and that should cool things down quite quickly. Cool enough to even issue a frost advisory for some of us. Even if you’re not covered in it, it wouldn’t be the worst idea in the world to cover the plants and vegetation tonight as everyone will be quite cold. Most backyards (maybe not Southside) should be at least above 30 by Monday morning. Cooler than in the west, where frost will be a good bet. Please note that the growing season has not yet started in the yards west of Roanoke, so there is no frost advisory. However, if you have already planted, you need to take action.

We’ll start off Monday afternoon quite cool, but we’ll be up with sunshine quite quickly (make sure to remove any plant cover!) Highs on our Monday will reach mid 60s in quite a few backyards, a northeasterly wind will keep the air level quite dry as well . This ensures that we can cool down quickly on Monday evening.

Looking ahead to Tuesday it will be even warmer. Back to the 70’s and not so cool Tuesday night. On Wednesday we will have more clouds and even a few showers as our next front passes. This will be followed by further cooling on Wednesday night and Thursday morning, with frost possible again. We won’t get back into the 60s until Thursday afternoon. The weekend will start to warm up, but that will also be our next chance for more rain. nothing too widespread, but something we’ll keep an eye on. Saturday looks wetter than Sunday at the moment.
