‘We cannot be satisfied with Austin’s results – there is clearly work to be done – but we are sparing no effort’ – Massimo Meregalli

Yamaha remains far removed from the competition and the last MotoGP round in Austin showed exactly that again. Still, the team is doing everything it can to become the best again and has had a ‘productive’ race, assured Massimo Meregalli.

“We can’t be satisfied with Austin’s results – there is clearly work to be done – but we are sparing no effort. Overall it was a tough but productive race weekend. We have tried new things and this data will help us prepare for changes for the future’ said the team director as he watched the race in the American GP.

The Yamaha head also addressed Fabio Quartararo and Áelx Rins’ race: ‘It’s a shame that Fabio dropped to 20th on the opening lap, because his tire life wasn’t bad. Álex, on the other hand, had a great start but lacked race speed due to an experimental set-up he tried. Now that we have gained further insights, we will regroup and determine our strategy for Jerez (…)’.
