A lot cooler today with rain for some

RICHMOND, Va. – Clouds are increasing across the region, with temperatures in the upper 40s and lower 50s.

Rain showers will arrive from the southwest this morning and continue until the afternoon. There will be some rain in Richmond and near I-64, but rain chances will be much higher in southern and southeastern VA. Areas well north of I-64 will see little or no rain. It will be much cooler with highs in the 50s. Temperatures in the south side of VA could drop into the 40s as rain falls.

It will dry out tonight and skies will be partly cloudy tonight. Lows in the metro will be in the low 40s, but our coldest outdoor areas in the Northwest will see temperatures dip into the mid 30s.

Monday will be mostly sunny with highs in the mid to upper 60s. Lows Monday evening will be in the 30s and 40s.

Tuesday will be mostly sunny and warmer, with highs in the low 70s.

A cold front will bring some showers on Wednesday, especially in the morning. Highs will be in the mid 70s. Lows Wednesday evening will fall into the upper 30s and lower 40s.

Thursday will be mostly sunny and cooler, with highs in the mid to upper 60s. Overnight lows will be in the upper 30s and lower 40s, but mid 30s are possible in the northwest.

Friday will be sunny with increasing cloudiness. The maximum will be around 70.

A warm front will bring a chance of a few showers on Saturday with highs in the low to mid 70s.

It looks like the 80s highs will return for a few days, starting next Sunday.
